Family and Children Assistance Service
The SEAFI is a voluntary service to prevent and take part in children problems, as well as those problems that may arise from couple’s or family's relationships. These are some examples:
-Family guidance.
-Relationship guidance.
-Teenager's guidance.
-Problems of minors at social risk.
-Domestic violence guidance.
Community Prevention Department for Drug Dependency
This service's main objective is to prevent drug dependency, thus promoting a healthy culture and an improvement in family, school and community social welfare. This way, the UPC promotes actions to reduce the use of drugs and promote healthy habits and positive activities, such as refusing drugs. Moreover, it promotes actions to improve social communication.
Adult Education
The Mancomunitat has given response to the needs of many municipalities by creating two different programs for Adult Education, enabling the city councils to cover their implementation costs. Adult population of the municipalities that have taken out a subscription to this service can access to an education in accordance with applicable laws to obtain a Secondary Education degree. Moreover, they can take Valencian classes in order to pass the official exams that are announced by the Junta Qualificadora de Coneixements de Valencià.
Regional Office for the Promotion of the Valencian Language
This is a service intended to advise the regional city councils on linguistic matters as well as to carry out campaigns and actions to promote the Valencian language all over the region. Furthermore, this department gives information to obtain economic aids to carry out the activities relating to our language. Moreover, it organizes linguistic classes for the Mancomunitat city councils workers.
Culture and Sport Service
This service's main objective is to coordinate city councils efforts and those of the different associations in terms of culture and sports. Moreover, it promotes several cultural activities, as the "Divulgación Ribera del Júcar" Prize, and several sport activities, as the "Pilota valenciana" annual prize or the International Open Chess Tournament.
Regional Development Agency
The service is intended for business and unemployed people and its main objective is to promote the socioeconomic development of the region. These are some of its functions:
-To look for local employment initiatives.
-To promote activities among unemployed people.
-To guarantee business projects consolidation by providing technical support.
-To provide the target group with information, training and advising.
Agency Service for the Promotion of Commercial Initiatives
This service is intended for shopkeepers and their associations. Its main purpose is to modernize and develop our region's commercial sector, thus improving the service consumers receive. Some of its functions are these:
-Shopkeepers information, advice and training.
-Sector studies.
-Activities to promote commercial associations.
-Development and modernization of commercial life in this region.
Regional Files Service
This service is intended to organize and arrange administrative documentation, according to ISAD Plan and according to the arrangement criteria the city council may have established. Member municipalities of the Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta need a plenary agreement to join this service, which covers the following subjects:
-Drawing up initial reports about the archive condition (diagnosis).
-Archives inventory elaboration and checking.
-Documents classification and chronological arrangement.
-Descriptive document cards elaboration.
-Document's microfilming/digitalisation.
Families Meeting Point
Families Meeting Point is a neutral place where the members of a family in times of crisis can group together. This way, children's rights are observed so far as their right to keep a good relationship wih their biological parents and other relatives is concerned after a process of separation or divorce or braking-up of the family unit. Moreover, this situation establishes the necessary ties minors need to have a good psychological, affective and emotional development, and prepares their parents to be able to maintain a good relationship with their children in future without depending on this service.
Collecting and Transporting Waste Service
The Mancomunitat has created a collecting and transporting waste system to the specific RSU recycling plant (light bottles, cans or packs, light-weight paper and carton). Thus, all the regional city councils that have joined this service can enjoy an annual programme which has been adjusted to each municipality specific needs.
Equipment Provision for Public Events
The Mancomunitat has got transportable multimedia equipments and more than 5,000 chairs for public use. This is a free service and a very important support for all kinds of events.
Abandoned Animals Care and Control Service
Nowadays, this optional service is offered to 16 Mancomunitat municipalities. It consists of weekly visits to these municipalities to take in the animals that wander around the streets.
Basic Social Services
The Mancomunitat provides people who need specific attentions with basic social services. This service is intended to manage primary care intervention and cover the basic needs of the region inhabitants.
Regional Acquisition of Goods and some other Materials
The objective of this service is the regional acquisition of goods and some other materials to use them at the different Mancomunitat's city councils.
